"Insane? Evil? 'Tis but elementary words that harken to imbecilic concepts. How can mineself be defined by such triteness? 'Tis naught but the brisk judgement of miniscule minds."
Ebony Sage is a Roegadyn of the Sea Wolf clan. Curiously enough, she has taken on the same method of naming as the Hellsguard.

I DO NOT POWER GAME/GOD MODE! At the time of writing this, I have 26 years of experience at roleplay through various means.Ebony has the Echo, and is a veteran combatant, but she is still mortal, still has flaws, and her knowledge is not complete.My goal is for Ebony to be part of the story, or at least aware of it, at least as far as the lore allows.Below I feel is pertinent information at what kind of 'level' Ebony is on.

Ebony has the Echo, though it doesn't work like the Warrior of Light's Echo or most variations of said power. Her "gifts" are much more dire and profoundly disturbing.
(See below. Click the button that says Echo!)Ebony is a woman of many talents, as long as they involve magic or lore. She is a lifelong student of Thaumaturgy and Arcanism. With just enough experience at Conjury to cast basic healing spells if need be. Such studies and life situations have led her to learning Summoning, Necromancy, Black Magics, and Void Magics as well. If it is forbidden, she is likely interested in it.Save for White Magic/Succor because screw the tyrannical Elementals and their knowledge hoarding ways.Along with this, she has incorporated the techniques she has been learning from her Reaper soul crystal to further add to her darker magicks. She is... nearly as dangerous to herself with a scythe as she is to others, so she tends to abstain from using one unless needed.She has general knowledge, at least, of most schools of magic, having devoted her life to magic since but a toddler.I've studied the lore and have crafted a story around her being able to do all of these classes within the constraints of the story.She... The Black Mage lore around soul stones is rather constrained as to how one might acquire such a thing. Suffice to say, I have a story for this. She didn't just find a black mage soul crystal on the side of the road one day. Ebony never did work with the prime members of the Scions from the MSQ. She has met a few of them, but never worked with them. There were quite a few Scions besides them, yeah?Primal Hunting:
While Ebony has faced Ifrit, Titan, Garuda, and Leviathan she did not do it alone. It was with other adventurers, echo users or not, and simple soldiers.

Ebony's Echo:
(OOC Information)Ebony's echo is based around seeing the moments leading up to a being's death. When having a vision, Ebony will essentially become the person that dies. She will see what they saw, think what they thought, and feel what they felt. In other words, Ebony becomes that person and then dies their death. These visions are seared into her brain and do not fade as quickly as normal memories can.There are four methods in how this can be triggered.1. At the location of a person's death. The more emotional and/or violent, the more likely to trigger.2. In the presence of their body. This does not require the death to have been emotional or violent.3. In the presence of someone that had strong feelings/experiences with the deceased. These can be positive or negative. Example; In an encounter with a loving widow, Ebony will likely experience their spouse's demise.4. ..... We do not talk about this.The third option works on the basic idea that those you meet, especially the ones you care for or hate, leaves traces of their aether upon your own soul. That is what Ebony's echo picks up on in that situation.Please send a tell before sending a description out of the blue. Ebony has had years to build mental walls and has trained herself to resist the triggering of her echo. As the visions are incredibly mentally distressing and can cause significant psychological damage. Yet despite her training, they still find ways through or around her defenses.
Possible Story Hooks:0. Please send a tell if you want to use any of these, as there are small details in nearly every hook your character would need to know.1. The most obvious would be that Ebony's Echo triggers in your characters presence. Boy oh boy can that lead to a bunch of fun things. Let me know so I can explain it further.2. If you lived in the Sharlayan's colony in the Dravanian Highlands before the exodus, you'll know that Ebony's family was exiled for delving too deep into forbidden subjects.
2a. Her family is named Waeba (pronounced Vee- ai -bah). Which means 'Weaver' in ancient Roegadyn.3. She is a member in good standing with the Arzzaneth Ossuary.. She used to teach thaumaturgy as it is applied to combat and war, but has since retired ever since the recent "lunar crisis" also known as the "Final Days".4. Ebony was with the Maelstrom Company during the Battle of Carteneau and fought with a group of Arcanists led by her mother. She tends to be rather tight lipped about the battle, but it can be coaxed out of her.5. She actively tracks down leads on other magi of darker arts so that she might learn from them. As of recent she has actively begun to seek out void magi and reapers. She never harms or reports them to the powers that be, even if they deny her their knowledge. Mutual respect and all.6. Ebony does keep an eye out for other wielders of the Echo. She finds that listening to others experiences and cataloging their powers helps give her insight into her own. In most situations, she refer to those with the Echo as 'sister' or 'brother'.7. Recently her family home in Limsa Lominsa was burned to the ground. Ebony's mother, father, sister, and all servants were killed in the fire. The cause of the fire is unknown to the authorities.8. If your character fought primals as well, they may have fought with Ebony. She enjoys trading battle stories.--- Aethersight users ---
1. Ebony's soul appears imperfectly connected to her physical form. In most instances this indicates a incorporeal being has possessed her body, but the soul matches the body.2. There is a thick, rope like tendril that is connected to her soul and aether, it trails off into nothing. Whatever is connected to her, it is a presence made of astral(active) darkness.
Anyone that meets Ebony may notice the following:1. She has bright yellow eyes which stand out in stark contrast to her dark grey skin and black tattoos.2. A small tattoo is centered directly between her eyes. A small gem the color of indigo seems to be fused to her skin in the center of said marking.3. There are two identical scars on her face. Both travel downward from her forehead, through her eyebrows and then across half her cheek.4. This one may slip by many, but the keen observer will note that her long fingernails are not organic. Rather, they appear to be made from crystals shaped to appear as fingernails.5. Her tone is deep and husky. She possesses a manner of speaking that makes use of archaic thees, thous, and thys while using verbose language that most would only find in books. Her accent is neutral, making it quite difficult to determine where she is from by that alone.6. Even though she devotes much of her time to the study of magic, lore, history, and the sciences, she lacks the soft form many like her have. Instead she has a chiseled, muscular form that indicates she is not only physically active, but must be training her body as much as her mind.
Years after Dalamud's fall, Ebony was a member of the Scions of the Seventh Dawn. Primarily joining due to her ability to resist tempering from Primal Influence, which saw her included in many incursions with the Immortal Flames that led to Ifrit being put down, or the summoning disrupted. She has also been 'loaned' out with others to the Maelstrom Company to bring down a Titan summoning and to the Twin Adders to halt the menace known as Garuda. Even the great serpent Leviathan has faced this dark Roegadyn woman. Despite the catastrophic losses with each assault, Ebony has managed to survive. If barely.As of most recently, with the peace made with the majority of the beast tribes, she is no longer called to put down the so called "Gods".While she was a member of the Scions, and in between Primal activity, Ebony has been requested to assist with various missions, from guarding supply trains, to bodyguard duty, to even fighting the Imperials during the freeing of Ala Mhigo. No job was too demeaning for her, and she would throw herself into the work with maniac relish.
